Inducted into the Army July 30th, 1942, he received his Basic Train ing at Fort Knox, Ky. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Allison of Lynn, N. C. Prior to entering the Army he was em- , ployed as a thread mill worker, I ■for the Tryon Processing Co., Tryon. SOLDIERS ENTERTAINED AT PARISH HOUSE Thirty-six Camp Croft soldiers were entertained Sunday for din ner in Tryon homes and later at the Parish House where they enjoyed a recreational and reli gious program which was follow ed by a delicious supper prepared by the church women of the community. Miss Martha Mason, Tryon home economics teacher had charge of the attractive St. Patrick’s Day decorations. Each soldier was giv en a shamrock leaf with a num ber to correspond with a sham rock leaf worn by a girl. In that way they found partners for the supper. The room was decorated with green and white streamers and across the stage were stream ers holding a WELCOME sign. Green shamrock leaves were pin ned on the table covers and green paper baskets holding green mints were at each plate. The supper was served cafeteria style by Mrs. F. P. Bacon’s committee. The en tertainment under direction of Mrs. Nelson Jackson, Jr., and Rev. Charles G. Sewall consisted of patriotic and popular songs and several monologues by Mrs. Caro lyn Hale which were greatly en joyed. The religious service was conducted by Mr. Sewall. Sbldier Wm. Harrison Cass was the pian ist, and Miss Mason, violinist. The following soldiers were in cluded in the group: Ludwig Faistenhammer of Bing hampton, N. Y.; Gabriel A. Fiato, Binghampton; Wm.
